This will be THE year for the hottest Michael Jackson Costumes. Without a doubt, the kidsop and adults alike will be searching for their Thriller-wear this year. Not only for the loss of the King of Pop, to honor him and to show their solidarity as die-hard fans, but to be able to dress like him and all of his glitter-rock glory.

There are so many different looks that he was known for. The most popular was his Thriller costume, and it is the most fitting, some say, for Halloween. There are quite a few accessories for this one, and if you can put it together, you will be the hit of the party.

Of course, there is also the awesome pseudo-military jacket, with all the bells and whistles, the one glitter glove is a must-have, and his many other mind-blowing costumes we have seen through the years. Including the Moonwalk costume, it’s a little understated, but immediately noticeable for what it is.

We have already missed him, and our homage to him will be slick, cool Michael Jackson Costumes. The major costuming companies are gearing up for the onslaught of demands from his fans to get their costumes in time for Halloween. Many companies are in a mad rush to get them out in time.

Usually, they will begin to manufacture costumes a year in advance, trying to gauge what will be “hot” the coming Halloween. However, with the unexpected death of Michael Jackson this year, they are scrambling. Some companies are indeed emerging as the leaders by unveiling their new Michael Jackson Costumes, complete with accessories, and are being inundated by orders. Not just from young teens and even younger demographics, but many adults who came to love and admire the star.

He was, and will always be the King of Pop, and the millions across the world will want to acknowledge his amazing career. So many fan clubs and organizations will be honoring him this Halloween by wearing Michael Jackson Costumes, that it will be a sight to see when you see thousands of MJ’s asking you for candy, or being at a very cool party.

We will be able to recognize what an icon he really was. And how much fun would it be to pretend to be the greatest pop star EVER? I think it will be a phenomenal success!

Before we can begin talking about Michael Jackson Costumes, we need to have a little background about the King Of Pop. The history of Michael Jackson begins when he was born, which was August 29, 1958. His parents were Joe and Katherine Jackson. He was the 7th of nine children. (brothers: Sigmund “Jackie”, Toriano “Tito”, Jermaine, Marlon, Steven “Randy”, and sisters Rebbie, Janet and La-Toya Jackson. His father encouraged the children to begin singing, as he saw talent in his large family.

As the kids began to gel as a group, they named themselves The Jackson Five. In just a few years, the group had become internationally known, with Michael as the lead singer, with his brothers as the back-up singers. Their first four singles, “I Want You Back”, “ABC”, “The Love You Save”, and “I’ll Be There” all made US No1 hits. The Jackson 5 recorded 14 albums and Michael recorded 4 solo albums with Motown.

As their music progressed, the Jackson Five continued with great success, however, in the early 70’s, Michael Jackson began a solo career, as he still was continuing to tour with his brothers. But as his own brand became much more popular, his participation became less, as he had to focus on his burgeoning career.

In 1977 Michael Jackson made his first film debut, “The Wiz” which starred Diana Ross. This is where he met the music mogul Quincy Jones, which ended up with the two of them collaborating in Michael Jackson’s first solo album “Off The Wall” with Epic Records, which was the first ever album to release a record breaking 4 No1 singles in the US.

His second hit album, ‘Thriller’ became such a huge hit that it was a phenomenon. It propelled him to international superstardom. John Landis directed the title song ‘Thriller’ which was homage to the horror films of the time, and made history with the incredible response from the watching audience. It was a huge success, with 7 hit singles, and the album became the biggest selling album of all time.

He then went on to create ‘Bad’, another huge selling album which completely rocketed him to being the most sold artist in the world. His fan base was world-wide at this point, he could go nowhere without being mobbed from one end of the world to the other.

His personal life was rife with speculations on his choices, and rumors were just a part of his life. In the early 1990’s, he met and married Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s daughter. It was a short-lived marriage, lasting less than 2 years. He eventually married his nurse, Debbie Rowe whom he met while being treated for a skin disease. They produced two children Prince Michael and Paris, his third child, Prince Michael II became the last of his children.

As his career was in the troposphere, his personal life had begun to have difficulties with charges of child molestation. He fought those charges off, and was never convicted, but the constant media attention forced him into becoming reclusive.

But he never gave up his music. In March 2009, Michael announced a shock comeback tour at the O2 Arena in London to start in July 2009, initially for 10 dates but the total grew to a sold out 50 dates with over 750,000 tickets sold. All sold tickets sold out within minutes of being released. He was in the process of practicing moves for the show, when he suffered a reported cardiac arrest on the 25th of June, 2009.

His family and friends, and fans around the world mourned his loss to the music he left them, and to the personality they would never forget. His memorial service was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as the world honored his incredible contributions to the music industry.

Wearing a Michael Jackson Costume this Halloween would be a fitting tribute.

If you are going to have one of our Michael Jackson Costumes this year, one of the accessories you most likely have will be a replica of his famous glove.

Too bad you weren’t lucky enough to obtain one of the real ones. You’d be a lot richer right now.

One of Michael Jackson’s jewelled white gloves that he once tossed to a fan in Australia at a film premiere in 1996 has been sold at an auction held in Melbourne, Australia for $49,000.00.

The King Of Pop was visiting Australia when he was on the “HIStory” Tour when he pitched the glove into the crowd. It was caught by fan and music collector William Hibble. Hibble died and his estate decided to cash in and sell the glove.

As you might expect, the glove was bought by the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Las Vegas. C’mon, we all know they would have never let that glove go to just anybody. They probably would have paid three times that much. In any event the auctioneer said it still sold for nearly twice what they thought it would.

[See post to watch Flash video]

“There was a huge amount of interest in the week leading up to the sale. We were still pretty surprised by the price,” Charlotte Stanes of the auction house Bonhams and Goodman told Reuters.

The crystal-encrusted white glove will eventually go on display at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas.

This was the first, of undoubtedly many, Jackson memorabilia items that will be auctioned off. If you missed out on this one don’t fret. Another, more famous, glove is being readied for sale very soon. The glove Jackson wore when he first performed the Moonwalk on the Motown 25 TV special in 1983 is being offered by Commodores member Walter Orange.

Orange who was given the glove as a gift from Jackson and it is valued at more than $60,000.00. Wow! That’s one pricey hand warmer!

Well maybe it won’t be worth a small fortune but you’ll look great and be in high style when you add a bejewelled glove to one of your Michael Jackson Costumes.
